The King

This past weekend found me at the start of the Last Great Race....Iditarod 2010. For the past 15 years I have helped my close friend Jeff King at the start and restart of the race as well as take care of the dogs he drops along the trail. This was a particularly special year as Jeff announced that this would be his last year running the race competitively. For everyone involved it has been a great ride. Jeff has the distinction of winning the race four times, in '93, '96, '98, and '06. I had the pleasure of watching him cross the finish line in 1996 in Nome. With any luck he'll pull off another win this year to top off an incredible dog mushing career. As always, King is King!
